In Abu Dhabi, extended the ban on rent increases

The corresponding statement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Prior to November 9, 2012 landlords can not increase the annual rent of more than 5%.

This measure was taken in order to stabilize the rental market the emirate.

Abu Dhabi has introduced restrictions on rental growth during the housing boom in the UAE. In 2005, the limit on the increase of the cost of not more than 15% per year was introduced also in Dubai.

At present, in both emirates allowed to raise rents by more than 5% per year during the lease term.

Until the end of this year, according to company Jones Lang LaSalle, in Abu Dhabi will be put into operation about 11 000 residential units, which also put pressure on rents.
